I'll start this off by saying that this was one of the best restaurants I've had in a while. The food, decor, and service were wonderful. The complimentary pretzel buns were amazing. I shared both the sausage platter and pork knuckle with a friend and the portions were very generous. The pork knuckle says it feeds two and it really does mean that.
If you love German food this is a great place to eat. Very nice interior and seating. All wood tables. Feels like a German gasthaus.
Authentic dishes, cozy spacious atmosphere w def touches of Bavaria all over the place! Even had kaiserschmarren which is a great authentic dessert that is hard to find!
Probably my favourite German restaurant in Chicago. A hidden gem with all homemade food. From the bread, to the Schnitzel to the Schwarzwälder Kirsch cake - all made right there. Super friendly staff and great prices. Definitely the place to go if you love German food. Favourite item on the menu: Liver Dumpling Soup!
Enjoyed the food very much. Owner was cook and waitress. Loved the roasted potatoes and onions. We appreciated her service. Excellent brownies too! Also other pastries to choose from.
